What already exists in the public domain

Techniques such as surface electroencephalography (EEG), low-intensity transcranial stimulation, and external-signal fatigue monitoring are well documented, and their oldest versions are no longer under active patent protection in much of the world. None of them involves implantation, incision, or penetration of the skin.
